* Journal entry, Great Lives, Great Deeds (Gandhi)
* verb phrase quiz
* Notes on parts of a sentence: subject and predicate
* Important parts of speech that compose a subject and predicate: noun, pronoun, verb
* Proving subject and predicate

* Use Legend for this purpose as well as student journal.



Tuesday, September 19

* Grammar keepers-journal writing

* Practice proving subjects and predicates in increasingly more complicated

* Proof of locating subject and predicate


Wednesday, September 20

* Journal writing

* Practice locating subjects and predicates.

* Introduce complete subjects and complete predicates as well as simple subjects and simple predicates.

* Practice identifying and explaining the above.


Thursday, September 21

* Grammar keepers-journal writing

* Practice locating subjects and predicate.

* Introduce kinds of sentences according to use: declarative, interrogative, imperative, exclamatory.

* Practice locating them in the book Legend.
*Introduce natural and inverted sentences and their relevance to writing.



Friday, September 22

* Grammar keepers-journal writing

* Quiz on sentences and parts of speech

* Silent reading of Legend
