Week 4

March 21-25, 2016

MONDAY, March 21
 * Review the expository strategies: introduction, body, conclusion.
 * Attention grabbers, controlling idea, point, example, explanation, link (PEEL)
 * Types of examples: history, entertainment, literature, personal experience (HELP)
 * Insight, rephrasing, summarizing, advise (IRSA)
 * Go over the weakest SE's on the revising and editing part of DBM#2
 * Use higher level questioning.
  
TUESDAY, March 22
 * Show a revised essay converted from a two (2) to a four (4)
 * Go over revising and editing questions from DBM #2
 * Use higher level questioning
 * Point out some writing techniques in the passages for students to adopt in their writing.

WEDNESDAY, March 23
 * Ask students their most difficult problems in writing and revising; address those.
 * More revising and editing questions analyzed answer choice by answer choice
 * Use higher DOK's for questioning.
 * "Read as WRITERS; write as READERS."

THURSDAY, March 24
 * Ask students their most difficult problems in writing and revising; address those.
 * Revising and editing questions analysis (continued)
 * Use DOK 1,2,3,4
 * "Read as WRITERS; write as READERS."
FRIDAY, March 25 GOOD FRIDAY
