* Engage students with a wrong sentence where subject and verb do not agree.
* Build the foundation with questions like: What's wrong with this sentence? If so, how do you fix it? Why did you fix it that way? etc.
* Have now students define this rule. Have them lay down the elements about this rule: subject-verb agreement.Elements: Singular/plural nouns/pronouns; singular/plural verbs; present tense verbs; first, second, third persons
* Use Legend for this purpose as well as student journal.
