            Some students who have tried composing free verses had unleashed their creative and poetic thoughts onto the genre. It seems that when budding poets are unshackled by poetic forms like rhyme and rhythm, they express their best thoughts through poetry.

Writing free verse is like playing volleyball with the net down. However, poetic thought must be expressed.

Definition Picture Book

            Students choose a quality and give its definitions in different situations. There will be pictures to illustrate that definition.

Creative Writing

Tall Tales

             Students create their own tall tales with the elements of character, setting, character's unique ability, conflict, and resolution. They must write with descriptive sentences.

           

Rhyming Poem

             Student poets compose their own rhyming poems with six stanzas and  rhyming patterns like aabb, or abab, or aaaa-bbbb-cccc.
